Microsoft developed Windows to make PCs easier to use. Windows is a GUI (pronounced gooey), which means graphical user interface. It lets you control the PC using a mouse and represents files and folders as icons on screen. Before Windows was developed, PC users had to type commands into MS-DOS. The current version is Windows 95.
